Obama's Dreadful H1N1 Response - A Harbinger of Things to Come?

T he current H1N1 American death toll now approaches the number of people who died in Hurricane Katrina. With few exceptions Americans are still unable to get their children vaccinated due to a drastic miscalculation by the Obama Administration. Production rates have never been what they should have been, and children are dying in the process.

We wonder. Bush had 2 days to prepare for Hurricane Katrina, a Category 1 hurricane that impacted 90,000 square miles of land mass and destroyed the electrical grid of a major population area. The catastrophe and government response resulted in 1300 deaths. The response of the mainstream media was indignation, bordering on outrage.

Obama's had nine months to prepare for the H1N1 flu virus. His administrations blundering lack of competency has to date resulted in at least 20,000 people being hospitalized and more than 1,000 deaths, by the CDC's own numbers. And this is probably the tip of the iceberg, because recent reporting about the quantity of vaccinations expected to be available by the end of this month indicate that once again the Obama administration will miss yet another monthly production target. The response of the mainstream media has been - well, nothing.

As we sit here hoping and praying that our children don't get infected, we must also ponder the reality that the Democrats in Congress are preparing to ram through health reform legislation that will permit the same government that can't monitor the vaccination supply to take over the entire health care system. The same folks who are making it virtually impossible for us to get our children vaccinated want to control the whole system.

To add insult to injury, the Obama Administration announced this week that it will start offering H1N1 flu vaccinations to the suspected terrorist detainees in Cuba, despite the fact that virtually none of them fall into the high-risk categories announced by the CDC. None of them are pregnant, and none of them are children. So Khalid Sheikh Mohamed, the man who conceived the 9/11 attacks that killed nearly 3000 Americans, is eligible for a swine flu vaccination, but our children still can't get one.

When Obama was first elected, many folks suggested that our nation wouldn't survive an Obama presidency. Sadly, those words have come back to haunt us. It now appears that many children won't survive the Obama presidency. Literally. And those who do will be in debt until the day they die.

What a shameful time in American history.
