American's Rejecting False Charges of Racism

9/18/09

I'm proud of the growing number of Americans who continue to reject Obama's thrust towards Socialism, and whom haven't backed down despite the attacks of the far-left radicals.

For too long, Americans have backed down when false charges of racism are levied against them. It's nonsensical to believe that many of those Americans who initially supported this Administration now oppose it due to the president's race, not his policies. Such accusations say more about the accuser than the accused. And it's quickly becoming apparent that it's the president's supporters whom are obsessed with race, not his opponents. Make no mistake, it is primarily Democrats who appear to be having a difficult time getting past the color of the president's skin. For the rest of Americans, primarily Independents and Republicans, it's a non-issue.

The fact is, the Democrats have made an art form out of playing racial politics. The recent charges of racism are nothing new, they are just louder in intensity because the Dems find themselves in a bad place and really don't know how to get out. Their policies are being rejected outright, and they're having a difficult time dealing with that. Obama waltzed through the campaign with no media scrutiny and with the belief that he would never be challenged. Those challenges are now coming, not from the media but from the public at large, including many of those who initially supported the president.

The Dems are reeling, and they're lashing out the only way they know how. These are folks out of ideas. They have nowhere to turn. They have just come to the realization that Americans aren't Socialist's and reject the Socialist agenda outright. This isn't the fault of the Republicans. This blame for this revelation falls squarely on the shoulders of the Democrats, who misread the results of the last election.

To be clear, nothing's been done to Obama that hasn't been done to his predecessors. George W. Bush was called every name in the book by the Democrat's in Congress, including repeatedly called a liar on the floor of Congress, by many of those the far-left adores. The signage held up at anti-Bush rallies were far worse than the anti-Obama signs being held up now. The Republicans didn't whine about it then so the Dems shouldn't be whining about it now.

To the Republicans, Democrats and Independents who are rejecting Obama and Pelosi's move towards omnipotent government control, I say keep fighting the good fight. Insist on good change, the type we were promised. Reject bad change. Reject government control of everything. Reject the racial demagogues who continue to inflame the debate.

And to the Democrat supporters whom, when out of ideas and out of excuses always revert to playing the race card, I say grow up, pull your pants up, quit whining and help the president and Congress formulate good policy. It's really not that difficult.
