Paranoid Fantasies of the Far-LeftI had to chuckle at the letter "Left-wing critics never so paranoid". So I guess I just imagined that Al Gore was flying around the nation telling all the schoolchildren that they're about to be engulfed by cascades of frigid water due to man-made global warming. And I guess my imagination got the best of me when I inferred from columns in the HuffintonPost and other far-left outlets that Bush "ruined the economy for a generation" despite the fact that the economic downturn was global in nature and his spending was far less than what Obama has proposed. And I must have also misread recent Sunpaper columns and the flood of letters condemning the last administration's policy on torture, portraying the activities that took place at Guantanamo as if, well, someone actually got hurt in the process. To quote one Amnesty International letter writer today "our use of torture was the best recruiting tool our enemies ever had". Sounds like a paranoid fantasy to me. After all, 9/11 occurred before Guantanamo Bay, right? Lastly, the letter writer closes with "some of the more liberal pundits, such as Jon Stewart of The Daily Show, couch their message in humor. It is hard to imagine someone being moved to commit murder after watching his show." Another ironic and easy to refute statement, as the last president shot was the icon of the Conservative movement, Ronald Reagan. I won't even get into the far-left's really bizarre paranoid fantasies, such as the CIA's intentional induction of crack cocaine into the ghetto's of America. One need only listen to Michael Moore or watch one of his movies, subscribe to the Huffington Post, or watch Nancy Pelosi insanely batting her eyes and spewing lies to realize that the Democrat's and their supporters spent eight years thriving on double-talk, paranoia and idiot fantasies, and continue in the same mode to this day. To pretend that the far right is somehow more paranoid than the far left is to ignore the last eight years. For some folks that's apparently easy to do. Editor - bethesite.com
