Mentor High Fails It's Children
The story of Sladjana Vidovic and the three other teens who committed suicide in a short span of time due to the incessant and repeated bullying taking place at one Ohio school is a horrific tale.
We can't fathom how a parent copes with a child suicide.
Mentor High School is culpable if not mostly responsible for repeatedly ignoring reports of bullying, for fostering a climate of bullying, and for failing to adequately address the issue, I hope the Vidovic, Mohat, Rezak and Eyring families take the town of Mentor for enough money to send a clear message that this nonsense won't be tolerated.
If you are an adult in a school filled with children, you are responsible for their well being and safety. From time to time events will occur that can't be prevented, but an atmosphere of bullying is very preventable. Take two or three of the tormenters and toss their behinds out of the school district, and you'd be surprised how quickly the rest of the kids in that beach front community would shape up.
If you are a school administrator and you are not up to doing the job, find a new career. Which, of course, should be the marching orders given to anybody with administrative responsibility in Mentor High School.
