All the President's Men

W ith passage of the late-night vote on the Senate Health Care bill, the question remains; will we ever see the transparent government Barak Obama promised us?

How about the sweetheart deals handed out to Democratic holdouts, hundreds of millions of dollars in gifts given to Nebraska and Louisiana? Maryland's own two partisan, lap-dog Senator's were never considered for such special treatment. We just get to pay for the gifts given to Nebraska and Louisiana.

And many of us are also now aware that Obama's job approval rating stands at something below 50%, the worst ever for a president one year into his term.

So the question: is Obama simply in over his head, or is his vision out of step with the American people?

I believe the latter. Just look at Obama's appointments.

Timothy Geithner, an admitted tax cheat, who's heading the IRS and reaching deeper into the pockets of the American people than any of his predecessors.

Eric Holder, appointed to head the Justice Department, now under investigation by U.S. Commission on Civil Rights for his failure to explain why he dropped charges against a group of baton-weilding black panthers who were intimidating elderly voters in Philadelphia last year.

Kevin Jennings, appointed as Obama's "Safe Schools Czar", a Gay activist and founder of GLSEN, an organization that featured a youth workshop on sex, during which presenters taught youth how to perform a dangerous sexual practice known as "fisting" - a practice so obscene that it cannot be described here (but presumably something that Democrats engage in frequently, or at least want their children to know more about).

Safe schools?

Obama's living up to his ideals and his beliefs. His claims of being a moderate are belied by his appointments, and subsequent decisions to operate the government in a cloak of darkness, not transparency.
