Homeland Insecurity

One Baltimore Sun letter writer asks "The big question now is: Will President-elect Barack Obama be ready to keep the homeland safe from terrorist attacks for the next four years?" Geez, it never occurred to me that he would want to. Keeping America safe wasn't a major part of his platform, and it's a non-issue to the far-left groups who funded his campaign. Obama's appointment of many of the same Clintonistas who set us up for the first 9/11 is further evidence of the fact that preventing another 9/11 isn't high on the president-elects list. Obama's agenda has been centered more on retracting the bush initiatives, including closing Gitmo, repealing the national ID act, repealing parts of the Patriot Act, repealing actions designed to put engineering controls on the border, etc. We've heard nothing of new initiatives designed to keep us safe, only initiatives designed to protect the rights of criminals and illegal immigrants. Bush kept our country safe since that fateful day in 2001. Obama ran on a platform of change, and got elected. What's the opposite of safe?
