Baltimore Sun Ignoring Dodd Culpability on AIG Bonus Scandal

I’m astounded that the Baltimore Sun sees no culpability on the part of the congressional Democrats or the new Administration in the ongoing AIG bonus scandal.

Didn’t Sen. Dodd put forth the legislation that allowed the bonuses to be paid? And isn’t he now blaming the White House, and specifically unnamed people in the Treasury Dept, for altering the legislation? Didn’t our new tax cheat treasury secretary know about the bonuses as early as this past Fall, and did nothing to stop it?

In the scheme of things, 174 million dollars is chump change when compared to the trillions of dollars of crippling dept the new administration is placing on the shoulders of our grandkids. But if we’re going to play the blame game, let’s reveal all the culprits, even those we may share political views with.

I simply can’t fathom why a newspaper that pretends to live by the motto “Light for All” refuses to cover the political shenanigans that are taking place in the dark of night, exclusively by the party in power. If this newspaper isn’t angling for a government bailout, then I’m at a loss. Because from my vantage point, the CEO of AIG was the only honest person in the room during yesterday's Congressional hearings.
