Class vs. Classless
I'm a bit surprised by the number of people writing in to condemn Nancy Pelosi's less-than-flattering farewell to President Bush, and to condemn likewise the crowds who booed the president at the inauguration.
For the past six years the Democratic Party leaders and many of it's supporters have appeared as bitter, mean-spirited, disrespectful and classless children prone to name-calling and insult-laden tantrums. Pelosi's acting no different now than she or any of her supporters have acted for the better part of a decade.
The real story is not the boorish behavior of the crowds who insulted Bush, or yet another tasteless remark by Pelosi. They were just being themselves at the inauguration.
The real story is that Republicans largely accepted the new president without responding in kind.
Class vs. Classless. It's been the same story for a long time now, and nobody should any longer be surprised.
