People Concerned with Children Don't Accept Fraud and Abuse in Welfare system
I f Baltimore Sun letter writer and self-described child activist Anne Sheridan is truly concerned with the fate of hungry children, then she would join Republicans in calling for further oversight of the SNAP program. Because nobody suffers more than poor children when adults use scarce welfare dollars to purchase cappuccino's, lattes and bushels of live crabs, or when emergency cash assistance is used at casino or liquor store ATM machines.
When welfare cards are used inappropriately it sends the message that either the program is being sorely mismanaged, or the program is being allocated far too much money. When system controls that could easily be put in place are not put in place, it's usually an indication of ulterior motives that have nothing to do with healthy children.
Some people who express concern for poor children are truly concerned about hungry children and their chance to thrive in life.
Other activists are in reality concerned only with redistribution of wealth from the middle class to dependent poor adults who vote for entrenched Democrat politicians.
Determining which category a person falls in can usually be achieved by first determining how receptive they are to the idea of fraud, waste and abuse in the public welfare system.
People concerned only with the proper use of tax dollars to support healthy child initiatives would never tolerate fraud and abuse in the welfare system.
