Putting the Cart Before the Horse

Days after the Sun officially endorsed Obama, the editors decide that perhaps now is the time for Obama to explain exactly what it is that he wants to change, and how he's going to go about it. Brilliant. It's obvious that the endorsement editorial was written as an acknowledgment of the turning of the tide in the Democratic Primaries, and hardly the result of any deep thinking or analysis of Mr. Obama's positions. In hindsight, there is that one advantage to having a late primary. It allows squeamish editors to jump on the bandwagon of the candidate who has the most momentum, without taking undue risk or spending any late nights analyzing the political positions of the candidates.
