Another Joe Biden Prediction
D
uring a Friday fundraiser, Vice President Joe Biden predicted that the economy would add between 250,000 and 500,000 jobs
in the coming months. Here we go again.
Before passage of the stimulus bill, the Obama administration had predicted that unemployment would peak
at 8 percent if the giant stimulus package was passed. But unemployment has already passed 10 percent.
And the cost of the stimulus bill we have thus far decided to pass along to our children and grandchildren.
This month, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reported that President Obama’s
budget and deficit projections are over 25% too low. The CBO now predicts that Obama's budget-busting
spending will incur $9.3 trillion in federal deficits between 2010 and 2019 --$2.3 trillion higher than
Obama had originally claimed.
Joe Biden is not known as a person who can keep his mouth closed. He talks much quicker than he thinks.
There’s another thing we know about Joe Biden. We know from his 2009 tax returns that he is a cheapskate,
and that he would rather keep his money than donate it to the poor. In 2009, he donated less than one and a half
percent of his income to charity, a lesser percentage than most Americans, despite his wealth. So as much as Joe
Biden is quick to give your money to other people, he is reluctant to donate any of his own.
If we as Americans can’t agree on anything else, can we at least agree that our cheapskate Vice President
is not smart enough to be in the prediction business, and should refrain from doing so?
Joe Biden made a political career by being the “roll up your sleeves everyman”, not too bright but
hard working and on the side of the people.
Perhaps he should stick with that.
