ACLU Continues Assault on Excellence

How ironic that the ACLU opposes the BOAST program. After all, it is largely an attribute to the ACLU lobbying efforts of the last 50 years that our public schools are in such dismal shape.

Morally, when parents strive for excellence, the ACLU sees only separatism. When parents strive for security, the ACLU sees only oppression. When parents strive for moral or ethical elevation, the ACLU sees only a threat to the version of the constitution they invented.

Economically, the ACLU ignores the enormous advantage granted to our public school system because so many children opt for private schooling. If these children suddenly switched to public schools, the system wouldn't be able to accommodate them.

The BOAST program is a program that rewards not on the basis of being rich or well-off. It rewards those parents who are going the extra mile for their children, who are striving to give their children the best education possible in difficult economic times.

The ACLU is an organization propped up by the powerful but numerically insignificant liberal elites who run our newspapers, college campuses and trial lawyer cartels, and who have an inordinate and irrational fear of anything other than cookie-cutter, socialized education, they same kind that has now failed millions of children for two generations.

Just once, it would be nice to see the ACLU came down on the side of families striving to excel.
